I could really only go so long before I created an ode to my husband's alma mater in Blacksburg. I love and although I went to JMU for undergrad, maroon and orange still hold a special place in my heart. This 11" x 14" oil on canvas provides a unique perspective of the stadium from the student section as this brave bird body surfs his way back to the field.

Georgetown Skyline at Oatlands Plantation 13th Annual Art Exhibit

Best in Show - Oatlands Plantation 13th Annual Four Seasons of Oatlands Art Exhibit

As a native of the Washington D.C. area, I have to say that one of my favorite views is that of the Georgetown skyline.  There is something so peaceful and serene about the neighborhood as it sits nestled high above the Potomac River.  Georgetown itself is a wonderful place to visit, with great history, restaurants, shopping, and the University.  I highly recommend visiting the Dahlgren Chapel as well as Healey Hall (note the clock tower in the skyline).  Make sure to bring your walking shoes, though, as some of the hills make a great workout!


In June, I was blessed enough to have this painting win Best in Show at the 13th annual art exhibition at Oatlands Plantation in Leesburg, Virginia.  It was truly a huge honor to be part of the show and it was a wonderful time visiting the carriage house.  If you haven't had the chance, I highly recommend a trip there for afternoon tea or a tour of the grounds.  It's truly magnificent!

Gray & Scarlet!

This is a print of an original oil on canvas painting of the mighty gray and scarlet on game night, replete with the marching band creating their famous 'Ohio' script. I must say that of the many college football stadiums out there, this is one of the most photogenic ones, and just a fun stadium to paint overall. Hope you enjoy!
